Joy

What are you like when you first wake up in the morning? Do you drag your crabby self out of bed and snap at whomever if they try to talk to you? Is it common knowledge that everyone should steer clear of you before 10:00 AM? How about changing your mindset? What would your day be like if your first thoughts were of God’s unfailing love and your first words to him were thanks? Maybe that would ease your worries and get you excited for the day. Hmmm… maybe you could become a morning person after all.

______________

Psalm 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Bits and Pieces
A lot of people think prayer’s all about talking to God. Actually, prayer also involves God talking to you. Having trouble hearing Him? Quiet down and listen.
_____________

Psalm 85:5
I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints—but let them not return to folly.

Bible College!

So, it's time for me to leave the nest. On January 5th, 2013, I will be leaving for Bible College (Vanguard in Edmonton, Alberta). It is going to be one quick move that is for sure. Prayer would be greatly appreciated... God has spoken to me in many ways. I will be going for at least one year for my Children's Ministry Certificate. Children are my life! I don't know what I would do without them. So, this is the journey I have ahead of me. I am so blessed to have a young lady contact me before I even get there, Breann Ryan, she will be my roommate and I look forward to it. It ends up she is in the same course as I am so it is going to be a blast! (Pictures will be added too :P ). I will try my best to keep updates going frequently. Right now, it is chaos! Packing... Man I feel like I'm packing my entire house, but I am so excited to see what God has in store for me.

Passion

What is out deepest passion? Women? Men? Passion for fitting in? Which creates you to be someone totally different… Video Games? Scrapbooking? Sports? Etc. What do you find you put your heart and soul into the most? Our generation today has fixed their minds to what society is trying to sell to them. Women having to look like the models in the magazines, men all over women thinking they own them. Don’t get me wrong our generation; my generation has passion it is just misplaced. So, the real question is where is our passion supposed to lye? Misplaced passion is the huge majority of why our youth today is in amongst pain and hurt.

We have passion and we are willing to do it with all our heart… but when it pleases us.

Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the LORD, not for men. Since you know you with receive an inheritance from the LORD as a reward. It is the LORD Christ you are serving.

**PASSION CHANGES EVERYTHING**

The Bible expresses it. We should not be filled with these worldly passions. You probably know the common ones. Drinking, drugs, lust, premarital sex, pornography, they eat at us from the inside out, a rebellious spirit, swearing, etc.

Our passion should lye in the things we do showing Christ through us. Everything we do do should always be for the LORD.

I may have opened a can of worms, but it is something our society needs to hear and see that those things are empty. Our work should be for the LORD God and it should please him, not disappoint him.

Meaning Behind The Title

So I have always labeled my blog as Faith On Fire. There is a reason behind this. I have been blogging since I don't know when... My mom got me started on this and she now has stopped blogging herself. But, the reason I still do it, is because I was taught to be strong in any circumstance. I have be through fire, but it has been faith that has brought me through. I am a miracle from birth and I still continue to call myself one because of all the things I've been diagnosed with that has almost killed me and things that have happened to me, which has given me ample times that I have lived to see another day, even if I was in a hospital. Even though there are days I struggle with my Faith, I know it is Faith that has given me the strength to walk through the Fire. My GOD is BIG.

Car Accident =/

Sorry to you all!

I know I haven’t written in a long time. One reason is I didn’t know what to say to be honest and then when I was starting to think about writing on here again, I got in a car accident. I was going less than the speed limit on a grid road and my car hit a soft spot, spun me in circles over and over until I went flying into a culvert. The scary part was I didn’t role, I flipped three times. I had a passenger in my car and I said over and over in my mind please God keep my passenger safe, I don’t care about me just please keep her safe, as we were flipping. I hit the front end of my car and I just felt us spinning in mid air and I hit the front again, and then again and then finally on all four wheels as the car took down a metal road sign. The airbags did not deploy. I went into immediate shock. My passenger was the one who got out of the car and waved down help. The Fire Fighter said she wasn’t injured; she walked away with nothing… I told him my Dad is going to be mad at me (for killing my car), he said to me “your Dad won’t be mad, he can replace the car but he can’t replace you. God kept you safe, if you would have gone off the road any sooner that road sign would have gone through your windshield. I’m glad I don’t have to tell your family that their daughter wouldn’t be coming home.” Well I was put into a neck brace, moved onto a stretcher, they strapped me in and I was put on a bed with more straps and escorted into the Ambulance. At that point I realized my parents were there and all I could say was, “I’m sorry.” After many x-rays and drugs, I was sent home. I went home with a major concussion, sprained neck, lower back injury, fractured right foot (got stuck under the gas pedal), it took me five days to come out of shock, and little bruises here and there, my head was pretty banged up and swollen is some area’s. This was wake up call number three. I could have died three times, but guess what?! I’m alive, because there is such a thing called miracles. Have faith in God and hope within yourself. That’s what kept me safe June 29th, 2012 at 9:45PM.

Judgment

Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim and turned them back to the LORD, the God of their fathers. He appointed judges in the land, in each of the fortified cities of Judah. He told them, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for man but for the LORD, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. Now let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD your God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” ~2 Chronicles 19:4-7

Got a thing for fairness? Ever find yourself saying (or thinking) “but that’s not fair”? Let’s be honest—we tend to get a little miffed when we think we’ve been treated unfairly. But what happens when you have to make a judgment call? Every day you make tons of little judgements—opinions about other people and things. What influences your opinions? Your own good sense? What your friends think? What seems fair at the time? Johoshphat wanted his judges to be careful in their rulings—no playing favorites, no standards contrary to God’s. Want to use good judgement? Stick with higher standerds—God’s.

Truth or Dare

Parents, pastors, principals. God isn’t trying to suffocate you with supervision! Actually, he’s placed a combo of people around you to help you do what’s right.

“Amariah the chief priest will be over you in any matter concerning the LORD, and Zebediah son of Ishmael, the leader of the tribe Judah, will be over you in any matter concerning the king, and the Levites will serve as officials before you. Act with cpirage, and may the LORD be with those who do well.” ~2 Chronicals 19:11

Devotion

As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and they immediately left their father and followed him. ~Matthew 4:18-22

Did you catch that? Jesus called Simon and Andrew to follow him, and they left their nets at once. He called James and John to follow, and they left their boat immediately. No delays, no excuses, no asking for just a little more time to do their own thing. They knew Jesus was the Messiah {The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). ~John 1:41}, so when he called, they didn’t hesitate to give up everything to follow him. They knew what Jesus offered was worth so much more than what they already had. Do you know that, too? Are you willing to give up everything to follow Jesus?
